Description:
The idea of a personal website was always something I've always wanted to pursue. It was not until
college that I learned what the word "programming" actually meant. My first computer science class
leaned on the theoretical side, but I knew that I wanted to learn more about the applications of
programming. This summer, the summer of 2017, I decided to try to teach myself how to code. I did
not want to overwhelm myself, so I didn't choose to learn AI and machine learning (which interests
me), but rather; web development. By self-teaching myself CSS3 and HTML5 for about three weeks, I
decided that it was about time to put my "skills" to the test. Making a personal website was surely
the smartest thing to do. With the help of Bootstrap 4, it has taken me a few days to finish the
website. The code I have written for the site is purely HTML and CSS, the Javascript and jQuery
components all come from Bootstrap 4's documentation. I am not as interested in the front end as I
am in the back end and this is why I did not decide against making a website that relies on Javascript
(because Javascript takes years to master).
